Update for 11/7/07

November 7, 2007

Yes, I am still alive.  No internet for a week and a half, then an election to get ready for, but things should be back to normal now.  New updates today for Clearance Items Only by David Beyer Jr and Media Report Comix by Richard Krauss.  I should also point out that the calender involving Richard Krauss is available in the online store and it started at the beginning of November, for anybody who is interested.  Also, my new address is: 97 W. Tulane Rd, Columbus, Ohio, 43202.  The post office still isn’t forwarding my mail, so PLEASE send new books to this address.  I’m hoping I can still get whatever mail I received during the last week somehow…

Update for 10/24/07

October 24, 2007

New review for Candy or Medicine by Josh Blair, and I’m throwing in the towel on the whole “regular week of updates” idea. Too much going on and the days just keep ticking away until I need to be out of this apartment. So, the idea is to have things up and back to normal on Monday, and I’m working to make sure that happens. If it doesn’t (as everybody who’s ever moved knows how reliable cable companies can be) and the site ends up being idle for a week or so, don’t fret, as I just paid for another year of Optical Sloth, so the site isn’t going anywhere. See you in the new place!

Update for 10/23/07

October 23, 2007

Well, there goes the whole “normal week” idea. Here are two reviews to make up for yesterday: Namby Pamby #4 by Rina Ayuyang and Shuteye #4 by Sarah Becan. Also, please note: for anybody who would like to order comics in the near future, this week would be a great time to do it. The transition to the new place (which should be over the weekend) should theoretically go smoothly, but I still have all my store comics with me now and will ship any orders off before the end of the week. There may be a lag after that for a few days or so, although I’m trying to make sure that doesn’t happen. Plus I wouldn’t mind a bit if those boxes were a teeny bit lighter…

Update for 10/19/07

October 19, 2007

New review for Neruda by Ted May, and huzzah for getting a whole week of updates out ina relatively timely manner with all the nonsense going on at the moment. Next week should be relatively normal as well, but a day or two might get lost in the shuffle. Happy weekend everybody!

Update for 10/18/07

October 18, 2007

New review for Dumb Jersey White Boy #3 by Mark McMurray and, one more time, let’s go Red Sox! Pretty please?

Update for 10/17/07

October 17, 2007

New review for You Can’t Get There From Here #2 by Carrie McNinch…

Update for 10/16/07

October 16, 2007

New review for Froggy’s Problem by T. Motley…

Update for 10/15/07

October 15, 2007

New review for Quitter by J. Chris Campbell, and, once again, I must try to start a solo chant of “Let’s go Red Sox”.

Update for 10/14/07

October 14, 2007

New review for Tripe by Josh Latta, and I’m going to try for a normal week of updates next week. No promises, and things probably won’t be completely back to normal until after the move at the end of the month, but that’s the goal.

Update for 10/12/07

October 12, 2007

Wow, it’s really Friday already? Sorry, the week got completely away from me. Next week should be a bit more normal, or at least I think it will be (and I’ll be updating over the weekend, thanks to the wonderful Poopsheet), and the new reviews today are for The Probe by Damian Jay and Grey Bear by Graham Annable.

Update for 10/8/07

October 8, 2007

New reviews for Comic Characters! by Mark Todd and Chrome Fetus #6 by Hans Rickheit, both available in the store.

Update for 10/6/07

October 6, 2007

OK, I’ll admit it, last week got away from me completely. Between the birthday, starting work again (and the overtime that goes with it), my Red Sox being in the playoffs and trying to kill the flu that wouldn’t die, the website got shuffled off to the side. So I’ll make this pledge: for every week, I’ll get at least five reviews up. It may not be daily as most of you expect, but by the end of the week there will be five new reviews. Chances are things will settle back down to (more or less) normal soon, but just in case it happens again, I’ll make up for it over the weekends. So, for today, two new reviews: Negotiating The Beast by Sean Mac Roibin & John Robbins and Strange Science Fiction #4 by Matthew McDaniel. I also ordered some minis recently, so there should be a decent amount of new stuff on the way.

Update for 10/2/07

October 2, 2007

New review for Panel #1 by various Columbus people. That’s right, the mythical first issue of Panel. As for the website, no updates tomorrow because it’s my birthday and I should work as little as possible. If anybody is feeling particularly generous, you could always order some comics as a birthday present. Comics for you, a little $ for me, everybody wins!

Update for 10/1/07

October 1, 2007

New review for King Cat #66 by John Porcellino, also in the online store. Sorry about the late update today, but the timing of the updates will be wonky for a bit as I get settled back in at work…

Update for 9/27/07

September 27, 2007

New reviews for Earth Minds Are Weak #8 and Ogner Stump’s Automotive Sorrows by Andrew Goldfarb, both of which are available in the online store. Hey, having no new comics around to talk about at least gives me an excellent excuse to talk about the stuff in the store…

Update for 9/26/07

September 26, 2007

New review for Achilles In Love And Death by Grant Reynolds, which also comes with a record by Scout’s Honor.

Update for 9/25/07

September 25, 2007

New reviews for Too Negative #9 by Jenny Gonzalez and True Travel Tales #3 by Justin Hall, both of which are available in the online store. And, by the way, this is what I mean by “sometimes one review, sometimes two”.

Update for 9/24/07

September 24, 2007

New review for Tardcore Comics #2 by Lee Lavy.  OK, here’s the deal. I’m going to head back to work next week (yes, it turns out that taking the summer off in part to fix up a website about comics wasn’t enough to make me independently wealthy), so that combined with the general lack of new comics at the moment means that I’m going back to one review a day. If I find myself with a sudden pile of new comics and/or some extra free time, it’ll be back to two reviews a day, although that’ll probably be more sporadic for the next few months or so at least. If anybody wants to post their own reviews, as always, I’m happy to take them and promote them up here on the main page…

Update for 9/21/07

September 21, 2007

New reviews for two comics available in the online store, Hate Yer State #2 by Corey Bechelli and Slackmatic #1 by Ryan Holgersen & Nathan Brewer. I’ll throw my plea up for new comics to review here one more time in case anybody sees it over the weekend. It’s not quite to the point where I’m going to have to bust out old Quasar issues and start rambling about them, but that time is fast approaching…

Update for 9/19/07

September 19, 2007

New reviews for Fish Out Of Water by Christopher Davis (also available in the store) and Panel #2: Architecture by Various people, mostly out of Columbus Ohio. Oh, and to anybody who ever paid attention to the forums, I think I’ve finally eradicated all the spammers and things should be safe to go back there and chat. Or, if it stays as dead as it has been, I’ll probably just kill it altogether in a month or so…
