A new review for Craig Stephens and new stuff in the store from Stan Yan and Tony Consiglio!
Update for 2/21/05
February 21, 2005Update for Austin English, as I finally reviewed a book he sent me months ago that got lost in the mess that is my bookshelf. As for the rest of the day, it’s been pretty crappy, what with the death of Hunter S. Thompson, one of the most influential writers in my life, anyway. I don’t have it in me to eulogize the guy, but he was needed for some of the fights still to come, and the world is worse off without him in it. If you’ve never read any of his books and think he was just a junkie and not much else, read Better Than Sex (about the ’92 presidential campaign), Hell’s Angels, or any of his Gonzo Papers (about the 70’s and 80’s, and if you think things have never been as bad as they are now, well…).
Update for 2/20/05
February 20, 2005Another review for Joey Weiser. Does anybody even come here on Sundays? If so, welcome! If not, welcome to another week of work!
Update for 2/18/05
February 18, 2005Ah, screw it! It’s Friday afternoon and I’ve been looking at a computer screen for 8 out of the last nine hours, so I’m not going to do a review today. Something over the weekend to make up for this slacking, to be sure, but I’m worn out today…
Update for 2/17/05
February 17, 2005New stuff from Kimberly Paglia and I fixed the link for Brad McGinty. Also, this getting up early business is for the birds…
Update for 2/16/05
February 16, 2005Erin Tobey gets reviewed today. Yep, it’s back to one review a day until further notice. Sorry, work’ll do that to me…
Update for 2/15/05
February 15, 2005New reviews for EJ Barnes (Tales of the Ling Master #1) and Lauren Weinstein (I Heart Becky). Which is the good news. The bad news is that I can’t get the images to load up for some reason, so as of 2:45, there are no images in these reviews. I’m working on it, and will get them up ASAP. Also, I’m now a member of the working force again, so updates probably won’t be up until early evenings until further notice.
Update for 2/14/05
February 14, 2005Sorry, a trip to ye olde doctor and other errands kind of killed the afternoon. More updates tomorrow to make up for it!
Update for 2/10/05
February 11, 2005New stuff from Josh Latta and Stephen Floyd, if there’s new stuff for the store I’ll be back over the weekend, otherwise I’ll be back on Monday!
Update for 2/09/05
February 10, 2005Sorry about the late update today, it’s been a busy day. Hey, it happens! Ryan Bousquet and Doug Frey are new today!
Update for 2/08/05
February 8, 2005Three updates today because I don’t know if I’ll be around tomorrow: Brad McGinty, Joe Havasy and JP Coovert. And I have a request: if anybody out there knows a computer program that will, plainly and simply, keep a computer in perfect working order from the time that you buy it to the time that it dies a painless death of old age, please, PLEASE let me know. I’m so very tired of dealing with viruses, random shutdowns of my computer for no reason and a bazillion other small problems…
Update for 2/07/05
February 7, 2005New reviews for Antar Ellis and Eleanor Davis, and Jennifer Young’s book was only $9.95, not $15 like I had guessed, so I updated that one too. A pox on Mondays!
Update for 2/06/05
February 6, 2005Thought I’d review a couple things from the store today, Teen Boat #5 (From John Green & Dave Roman) and Tomato (from Kelli Nelson).
Update for 2/06/05
February 5, 2005This online store thing just keeps getting better and better. Got comics for the store today from Hans Rickheit (who everybody should at least look at, as he’s doing some of the more unique work in comics today) and Jerome Gaynor (who sent two of the best small press anthologies ever, in my humble opinion). Check ’em out, see what you think!
Update for 2/04/05
February 4, 2005New stuff from Patrick Dean and Jennifer Young! Have a good weekend everybody, I’ll probably pop in at least once over the weekend for more reviews…
Update for 2/03/05
February 3, 2005Well, it’s finally started to happen. I’m getting comics for the store too quick for me to review them in a timely manner. A bunch of new books from Kelli Nelson today, and if anybody has these (or any of the other blank items in the online store) and would like to review them, please, be my guest. Otherwise I’ll fill them in as time permits. New reviews for Drew Weing and Joe Sayers!
Update for 2/02/05
February 2, 2005FLUKE week begins! OK, it’s Wednesday, and OK, it’s probably going to be more like a few weeks, but I think you get the point. Three good comics from Adam Aylard, Andy Hartzell and Joey Weiser looks like a good start to me. Also, as I’m particularly broke right now (what with the trip and all), I’m doing a “special offer” for the store. The next person who orders $50 worth of stuff gets a free copy of the first Rosetta anthology, as I have an extra one laying around. If I get a sudden rush of orders over $50 because of this, don’t worry, you’ll get something good free if you order before I post another update saying that this is no longer vaild. If I hear crickets chirping in the next few days, well, this offer is vaild until I say otherwise. OK? OK.
Update for 2/01/05
February 1, 2005I’m back! And feeling lousy! My family was sick when I was traveling and I felt fine until I got back to Columbus… when I found out that I was sick too. Oh well. The good news is that I managed to get all the new stuff up in the store. Mary Jessica Hammes, Sharon Furgason, Debbie Huey, Caesar Meadows, Robert Young (not a comic but The Comics Interpreter), and new Teen Boats from John Green and Dave Roman. I’m going to try and get a whole bunch of reviews up tomorrow, for now I’m going back to bed to try and kill this cold…
Update for 1/29/05
January 29, 2005Ice storm schmice storm! I managed to get to FLUKE after all and have all kinds of new comics to review when I get back to Ohio. This is just a little note to let you all know that I’m not dead or anything and that new comics should be up here at some point on Tuesday. Now get back to chatting on the forums!
