Update for 2/21/05

Update for Austin English, as I finally reviewed a book he sent me months ago that got lost in the mess that is my bookshelf. As for the rest of the day, it’s been pretty crappy, what with the death of Hunter S. Thompson, one of the most influential writers in my life, anyway. I don’t have it in me to eulogize the guy, but he was needed for some of the fights still to come, and the world is worse off without him in it. If you’ve never read any of his books and think he was just a junkie and not much else, read Better Than Sex (about the ’92 presidential campaign), Hell’s Angels, or any of his Gonzo Papers (about the 70’s and 80’s, and if you think things have never been as bad as they are now, well…).
