Update for 8/9/09

August 9, 2009

New reviews for Amazing Adult Fantasy #21 by Tim Doyle and Eraser Dust #5 by R.C. Johnston.  It turns out that TODAY is the 8th anniversary of the site.  Um… huzzah!  Thanks to everybody who has supported it over the years, either with free comics or with buying comics, or just the general well-wishers.  I don’t always answer those e-mails because there’s nothing more awkward to me than responding to somebody saying how much they like the site, but I do read and appreciate them.  Now, thanks to the old e-mail file of one Jason Dupuis (who is one of the few people besides me to have reviews up on this site), here is the original forward when I was getting things rolling.  I didn’t keep up with the interviews, obviously, because it took a lot more time than you would think to do the research.  I also changed the name of the site after a couple of lawyer friends informed me that Xerox could sue the bejesus out of me if they ever noticed my existence.

Chances are that you people don't know me, but if
> you're getting this it's because I've been

> me, mostly all I have is a love of comics and a belief that

> all these points a lot better on the website: www.xeroxarmy.com.
> Check it out, give me suggestions, tell me you think
> it's terrible, whatever.  But I'll need your
> help to make it successful (no, I don't mean your money)
> because I want as wide of a variety as possible, and
> there's only so much stuff I know about on my own.
> I want this to have everything under the sun that anybody

> I'll be updating it pretty much constantly.

Update for 8/8/09

August 8, 2009

New review for Folk #4 by Tyler Stafford, and it looks like it’s getting too hot to move around here.  If only you had bought comics from my store you could have spent the day inside reading them!

Update for 8/7/09

August 7, 2009

New review for Nine Gallons #1 by Susie Cagle, and I got the date wrong for the site anniversary: it’s August 9th.  Oops.  Big blowout on Sunday then!

Update for 8/6/09

August 6, 2009

New review for Gulliver Brimstone by Scott Claringbold & Brian Typhair.  I know, I missed a day yesterday.  Should have had more ready to go after the election, but I’ll most likely make up for it over the weekend.  And tomorrow, with no fanfare whatsoever, is the 8th anniversary of the launch of the site.  With a different name, granted, but still, 8 years of this nonsense.  If anybody is feeling especially nostalgic and/or wants to offer some form of congratulations/condolences, why not order some comics?  You get the comics, I get some of the money.  Everybody wins!

Update for 8/4/09

August 4, 2009

New review for Big Funny, which is basically a newspaper full of comic strips.  Yes, it’s the size of an actual newspaper, if not bigger.  The planners seem to mostly be from Minnesota, the contributors seem to be from all over the place.  Also, I’m writing this in the past, as it’s an election day, so if the sun has exploded or something, that’s why I haven’t commented on it.

Update for 8/3/09

August 3, 2009

New review for Everything #1 by Chris Anderson & Mark Hensley, and one of those people is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine.  No offense to the other guy, I just don’t know him very well…

Update for 8/2/09

August 2, 2009

New review for XO #5 by Brian John Mitchell &  Melissa Spence Gardner, all the way down at the bottom of Brian’s rapidly growing page.

Update for 8/1/09

August 1, 2009

New reviews for Pillow Talk by Jamie Dee Galey and Uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh by Kris Lachowski, as actual life got in the way of an update yesterday.  Damn, I almost made it the whole month too…

Update for 7/30/09

July 30, 2009

New review for Time Warp Comix #2 edited by Dan Taylor, one of his many books available in my shop.  For you to, you know, buy.

Update for 7/29/09

July 29, 2009

New review for Zeek the Martian Geek #8 by Brian Cattapan, which is also newly available in the online store along with his new collection, appropriately titled Zeek the Martian Geek, which collects the best of #1-7.  In other words, if you buy two books you essentially have all of the (non-color) Zeek up to this point.  Wotta deal!

Update for 7/28/09

July 28, 2009

New review for The Moldy Bagels by Suzanne Baumann, and yes, it does indeed seem like I have an endless supply of her minis lying around.  I’m sure I’ll run out one of these days…

Update for 7/27/09

July 27, 2009

New review for Crustacean Frustration by Robert Ullman and yes, I am back to the usual random comics reviewed each day instead of going with a geographical theme.

Update for 7/26/09

July 26, 2009

New review for The Love Song of Kermit the Frog by Ed Choy Moorman.

Update for 7/25/09

July 25, 2009

New review for Laterborn #6 by Jason Martin, which I somehow managed to get out between power outages.

Update for 7/24/09

July 24, 2009

New review for City Under Sand by David Beyer Jr.  No, he’s not from New York, which kills the theme week, but oh well.  Just consider it one of those 4 day holiday weeks.  If the situation ever comes up again I’ll probably do another one, but what are the chances of getting 5 books from the same town in one week?

Update for 7/23/09

July 23, 2009

New review for P.S. Comics by Minty Lewis, a collection of all of her past P.S. Comics and another excellent comic by Secret Acres.  Not to give away the content of the review or anything…

Update for 7/22/09

July 22, 2009

New review for Apprendiz #4 by Adam Suerte, and kudos to him for finishing what he started right around 10 years ago with this story.

Update for 7/21/09

July 21, 2009

New review for The Deformitory by Sophia Wiedeman, and due to some last minute review comics I should be able to make it a New York theme week after all.   Um, and for next week I would like to review the backs of some crisp $100 bills, so please send those to the address listed on your right…

Update for 7/20/09

July 20, 2009

New review for Try Adventure #1 by Chris Anderson, and it looks like that New York week isn’t happening (although Chris does live in New York).  I’m about two comics short, so unless I get a couple of NY comics in a hurray the whole regional theme week idea is going to quietly go away…

Update for 7/19/09

July 19, 2009

New review for The Constant Dilemma by Kris Lachowski, and I’ll see tomorrow if I have enough comics to make next week all about New York artists.  Any other geographical locales that want in on that, all it takes is comics from 5 different people from an area.  Columbus, I’m looking at you…
