Oh glorious day, it’s my first Brandon Lehmann comic of 2026! And since it’s already late August, that’s far too long. Sure, I could always fulfill my promise/threat to go buy all of his older comics that I haven’t seen yet, but just roll with me on this one. This is another stellar collection of short comics, mostly one or two pages, and once again I’m going to have to go into my vagueness shtict to prevent any spoilers. Honestly, I’m more OK with giving away plot details of some complicated opus than I am of giving away spoilers to the punchline of a single page strip. Things start off with Brandon stopping by and explaining that there are five golden tickets randomly distributed in these issues, after which he goes into detail of what the winner would receive. That little joke was paid off beautifully halfway through the book, when I noticed my green ticket that was inserted purely to tell me that I was not a winner, which also went into some hilarious details. But hey, maybe the copy YOU buy will have a golden ticket! Stories in here include the origin story of Big Mouth Billy Bass (along with an experience in the official store), the frustration of being a ghost who’s stuck hearing people getting it wrong without being able to correct them, the disgusting answer to “what’s the catch?” about a house that’s too good to be true, the dangers of unleashing a genie without a plan for your wishes, the pay scale for kissers and kissees, Gambit of all people figuring out what’s really going on with the X-Men’s finances, a couple of ogres discussing their new decoration, a call for help that’s answered by the wrong people, Robert Smith: Professional Therapist (of which I can say no more), and the wonders of a seahorse parade. And more, of course, but there have to be some complete surprises in these comics. You genuinely can’t go wrong buying an issue of Womp Womp; I don’t think there’s a more solid laughs to pages ratio in all of comics. $10
