Update for 3/9/09

New review for A Grain of Salt by Lynn Lau, I’m back from my trip and I managed to get a decent pile of comics from Quimby’s.  One little point I’d like to rant about, for those of you new to making mini comics: if you put out a book that’s a straight up black and white number (meaning no fancy covers, no color art at all), don’t charge more than $2 for it unless it’s giant.  Seriously, I’m somebody who is trying to get as wide a range of artists up here as possible, but there were literally dozens of books I didn’t pick up because I was insulted by the price.  Granted, the inside of the book may be the most brilliant thing in western literature, but I will never know that unless somebody sends me the book for free to review, and even then I’ll be compelled to mention the ridiculous cover price.  The only people who are going to pay more than $2 for simple black and white minis are either independently wealthy or related to the author.
