New review for Strange Science Fiction #7 by Matthew McDaniel, and the images are mixed up from #6 and #7 because I can’t see images when I’m editing a post. Lovely, but something that’ll be fixed soon, if all goes well. As for me, thanks to everybody who expressed concern, let’s just call 2008 a fairly lousy year so far and leave it at that. I’m back, updates should be regular from now on (yes, I mean it) and, while the store may still be a couple of weeks away, all of the reviews are fixed, so search away without fear of excessive question marks.
Update for 7/2/08
July 2, 2008Nothing new, there are family issues I’m dealing with and am not around the comics at the moment. Here’s hoping things are back to normal by next week, in the meantime I’m still plugging away and trying to fix everything else, and as for comments, unless I start getting real ones soon I’m just going to turn them off instead of having to delete bunches of them every day. I never liked the concept much anyway, so that won’t be a problem…
Update for 6/26/08
June 26, 2008New review for Jumbly Junkery by L. Nichols, and the fixing of the pages is slowly moving right along, although the store will probably still be a week or so. Again, if anybody has to have their comics, perhaps to blow up with fireworks for the holiday, I can still put together an order the old fashioned way, with people e-mailing their list. Heck, I could even use this telephone to put something together, as I’m just that dedicated…
Update for 6/25/08
June 25, 2008OK, I have no idea how to make that post below visible only as a “read more” type of clickable thing, but at least I’m able to do updates again. The new review is for What a Whopper by Dan Archer, as you can see, and here’s the plan: one review a day while I dig through the rest of the site and get it up to speed, then more once that’s done. Real life may interfere with this is a bit over the next week with the holiday and personal stuff, but that’s the plan. As for the rest of it, you know, if you’ve ever had a wish list for this site, now is the perfect chance to let me know. I’m debating putting together a used comics marketplace in the store (for me to try to clear some stock, but in the long run ideally for all sorts of people to use, sort of like a focused eBay for comics) and possibly credit cards for the store, assuming the cost isn’t prohibitive. Any more ideas, well, I’m listening…
Update for 6/19/08
June 19, 2008OK, this is a chore, so please bear with me. I’ve added the category of “Fixed Reviews”, as there are multiple listings for pretty much everybody on the page, and I’ll be putting them in the Fixed Reviews category as I pare them down to one page and fix all the errors from the transfer. If you have a page here or have a friend with a page here, please check it out, see if the images are still where they’re supposed to be, check if there are any ridiculous errors (outside of all the question marks) and get back to me at whitey@opticalsloth.com. I’ll be digging through these 3000 pages as time permits (and the real number of artist pages is probably going to be closer to half of that when I get rid of the dups), but if your page is mysteriously gone I need to know, as I didn’t have every single person on this page memorized before the spammers hit. I’ll be out of town this weekend so chances are things will stay sloppy for a while, but the store should be back up soon (if you have to have comics right now just e-mail me and I can put an order together), the pages should be fixed in the near future and, frankly, I’m liking this Word Press setup much better than the old one. Not sure about the comments though, as pretty much all of the ones I’ve seen so far have been porn spams…
Update: Think things look a little off?
June 15, 2008OK, clearly things are screwed up around here at the moment. Blame some dedicated spammers who sent off a whole bunch of e-mails from my website, or my computer, or something like that, and all sorts of things have to be done to get things back to normal. It’s also not really clear to me how long it’ll take to get everything back up. A week maybe? In the meantime, all of the old content should still be around, under reviews in that tab on the right side. Things will be back to normal as soon as possible though, so please bear with me…

Update for 5/21/08
May 21, 2008Sorry about the lack of updates, getting back to work wore me out a lot more than I thought it would. New review today for Zephyr & Reginald: Minions For Hire #2 by Rick Silva & Gynn Stella, and I plan on doing plenty of reviews over the weekend in my downtime to make up for all the slacking lately…
