New review for Thomas Wogan is Dead by Dave Hughes, and I should mention that Young American Comics is apparently going out of business and they’re selling a bunch of stuff at their website for ridiculously tiny prices. Hm, maybe this economy really is broken and I’m in trouble thinking a website like this can ever make more than a few pennies at a time. Oh well.
Update for 1/17/09
January 17, 2009New review for II: No Time Like the Present by Eve Englezos & Joshua Moutray (part 2 of a 3 part series), also available in the online store, and have I mentioned how much easier that thing is to navigate after fixing it up around the first of the year? Try it and see!
Update for 1/16/09
January 16, 2009New review for This is What Concerns Me Presents Remainders by Susie Cagle (the title looks less clunky on the comic than it does all typed out here), and it occured to me recently that if I keep reviewing comics every day I’m going to need to be getting more stuff in the mail to review. Sure, I have enough for another couple of weeks, but then it starts getting dicey. So why not send me your comics?
Update for 1/15/09
January 15, 2009New review for Plastic Farm: Fertilizer by Rafer Roberts, a sort of in-between graphic novel to the regular story, for those of you who were curious.
Update for 1/14/09
January 14, 2009New review for Children & God #2 by Kelly Clancy, and I’m going to have to come up with more interesting conversational topics if I’m going to do one of these updates every day…
Update for 1/13/09
January 13, 2009New review of Nibble #1 by Tom Cherry, and jeers to serious winter weather turning into nothing after I’ve already called off work.
Update for 1/12/09
January 12, 2009New review for Run, Damn You, Run (early nominee for best title of the year, that’s for sure) by O.E. Rivera.
Update for 1/11/09
January 11, 2009New review for Good Minnesotan #3 by Various people from Minnesota, and all you people are getting ready to send me your comics to review, right? OK, good.
Update for 1/10/09
January 10, 2009New review for Always Comix #4 edited by Erin Griffin & Sarah Louise Warhaftig, and it looks like the planned snow day in Ohio has turned into an ice day. Huzzah!
Update for 1/9/09
January 9, 2009New review for Cast of 2008 Beijing Olympics by Jeff Zwirek, and for those of you who were curious, that resolution of mine does extend to weekend updates (for as long as I have comics anyway, so send them to that address on the right). Up this weekend: anthologies! And here are my eBay things listed, one last time, for those of you who may want such things.
Infinity War and Infinity Crusade
Punisher comics (including some that are “worth something”, I swear!)
Update for 1/8/09
January 8, 2009New review for The Fifty Flip Experiment #6 by Dan Hill and yes, I am going to flog my eBay auctions while I have them up, so scroll down to see if they’re right for you!
Update for 1/7/09
January 7, 2009New review for Blammo #3 by Noah Van Sciver, and please scroll down for the links to all my eBay stuff if you happen to be somebody who likes a lot of exclamation points in your comics, of if you happen to be a They Might Be Giants fan with a laserdisc player.
Update for 1/6/09
January 6, 2009It’s the first King Cat of the new year! #69 is reviewed today (and is also available in the store, now easier to find than… recently!). Also, I have a number of things up at eBay, so for anybody who wants to help me clean out my comic boxes or for the one person left out there who still has a working laserdisc player:
Update for 1/4/09
January 4, 2009Happy New Year! As I’m required by law to have a resolution, how about this: I pledge to get an update up every day this year that I’m actually in town and have comics to review. This means that you comical folks are going to have a lot to do with it, as sending me new books to review is going to be what keeps that pledge going. And how about the newish website? All the old reviews are back and easily accessible (either through the tab up top or by clicking on the Reviews category on the side) and the store is easier to deal with (as you can actually see the shopping cart as you go now). Thoughts? Opinions? It’s also much easier to contact me or send books, as that address couldn’t be more obvious now. Oh, and the new review today is Magic Everywhere by Eliza Frye.
Update for 12/22/08
December 22, 2008New review for Nibble #5 by Tom Cherry, a cheery holiday tale, in case you thought I had no holiday spirit at all.
Update for 12/21/08
December 21, 2008New review for Izzy Challenge #5 edited by JB Winter and containing 50 different artists from all over the country. Still a few more comics to get through before the holiday, and if you wanted to order anything from the online store and have me send it out before I leave town for the year, now would be a good time…
Update for 12/18/08
December 18, 2008New review for This Is What Concerns Me by Susie Cagle, and I’m going to try and get through most of my comics pile before I head out for the holiday, so expect a brief spurt around here followed (probably) by very little activity until the new year.
Update for 12/16/08
December 16, 2008New review for Cavities Comix Presents by Erin Griffin, and to anybody who was curious, I was actually able to sell my pile of Avengers comics. The other ones listed, not so much…
