Thief: The Adventure of John Argent #4<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is one of those cases where you really can judge a book by its cover. If you like decent, straightforward adventure stories, you’d probably find something to like in this series, at least based on this one issue. If you like your stories a bit meatier or complex, or possibly just don’t like adventure stories, it’s best to move along. That’s not to say that this might not be complex, it’s just that it’s hard to see that from this one issue. In here we have the thief cheating some people at dice, which leads him to escape into a blizzard. He finally finds a cottage and, near death, stumbles inside. It turns out that the people inside have more on their minds than helping a stranger, and yes, that axe on the cover does come into play. It’s an OK story with decent art, and it’s a story that may end up going somewhere or it may just be a series of madcap adventures that this thief finds himself in. This is from 1998 though, it’s possible that there’s a wide range of stories available now to flesh things out, although I couldn’t find out for sure online. $1<\/p>\n
